Muscle stem cell activator

As we age muscle injuries have a harder time recovering.  Little muscle strains take forever to heal.  New research has found out why.  Specialized white blood cells called macrophages cuddle up to damaged muscle cells and secrete a chemical called NAMPT that tells the damaged muscle cells to reproduce and repair.  Our supply of that particular type of macrophage decreases with age.

Can you exercise too much?

New years resolution's aside, how much is too much exercise?  Research has shown that frequent long distance runners have the same heart attack mortality rate as couch potatoes.  Moderate exercisers do much better.  The sweet spot seems to be moderate exercise no more than three times a week and no more than a total of 2.5 hours a week.

Why dieting does not work

Recent research has discovered specific brain cells that regulate eating like a thermostat.  These AGRP neurons partially shut down fat burning when you diet.  This was designed to help us conserve energy during times of famine.  But these days the only famine we encounter is dieting.  So, cut the calories and your body responds by saying you don't need those calories anyway.

Our address is  9725 Fair Oaks Blvd. suite A
Our hours are M - F 10 to 3:30

Finding the new location is very easy.  Coming from highway 50 up Sunrise Blvd, you turn left and go up a block.  We are on the right hand side - the building just past the Subway Sandwich shop.  If you are coming down Sunrise from the Mall area then just turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd and up a block on the right.

If you are coming from the Roseville area you could come down Sunrise Blvd, but that is a long trek.  It is probably shorter time wise to come down Auburn Blvd - San Juan Ave like you have been for the Sunset office, but instead of turning left at Sunset, keep going straight 3 more lights to Fair Oaks Blvd and turn left.  Go down 2 lights to New York Ave, go through the intersection, and immediately turn into the turn lane once the center divider ends.  We are on the left.
