Lower Blood Pressure with Potassium-Rich Foods

Normal blood pressure requires a balance between the electrolytes sodium and potassium.  We don't generally eat many foods high in potassium so medicine has tried to re-balance high blood pressure patients systems by prescribing low sodium diets.  A better approach is to simply eat more potassium rich foods.  My personal favorite is avocados.  We need 4 to 5 grams of potassium a day.  Bananas are a good potassium food, but you would need to eat about 10 bananas a day to get enough.  A baked potato is a better bet with 925 mg while an avocado has around 1000 mg.

Strawberries Inhibit Breast Cancer

Eating 10 to 15 strawberries has been found to fight cholesterol and prevent or treat breast cancer.  The phenolic and antioxidant compounds in strawberries were found to do this in female lab mice inoculated to produce breast tumors, however the tests have not been done on humans yet.

High Fiber Diet could fight Diabetes

High fiber diets have been found to promote good gut bacteria to produce indoleproprionic acid - a potent protector of our insulin producing beta cells and a way to increase insulin sensitivity.  The right fibers are eaten by the bacteria and they produce a number of healthy byproducts that protect our gut as well as  other organs.

Our address is  9725 Fair Oaks Blvd. suite A
Our hours are M - F 9 to 1 and M, Tu, & Th 3 to 6

Finding the new location is very easy.  Coming from highway 50 up Sunrise Blvd, you turn left and go up a block.  We are on the right hand side - the building just past the Subway Sandwich shop.  If you are coming down Sunrise from the Mall area then just turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd and up a block on the right.

If you are coming from the Roseville area you could come down Sunrise Blvd, but that is a long trek.  It is probably shorter time wise to come down Auburn Blvd - San Juan Ave like you have been for the Sunset office, but instead of turning left at Sunset, keep going straight 3 more lights to Fair Oaks Blvd and turn left.  Go down 2 lights to New York Ave, go through the intersection, and immediately turn into the turn lane once the center divider ends.  We are on the left.
