What do babies need to become successful?

Research is showing that one of the most important things babies need is conversation.  Loving communication is brain fuel that develops language acquisition, critical for school success and both social and emotional well-being.  From birth to 6 months of age they need the exaggerated sounds and facial expressions parents use to focus the baby’s attention on them.  6 mo. to 18 mo. they need lots of present time word learning like naming things.  18 to 36 months introduce where and why conversations but still present time focused.  Save future and past communications until after 36 months.  Their brains are sponges that soak up everything so the more loving communication you give them the better.

Vagus nerve stimulation reduces rheumatoid arthritis

The vagus nerve is the main parasympathetic (rest and digest) nerve from the brain.  When activated it reduces inflammation in the body – enough to reduce even something as severe as rheumatoid arthritis.  This is the opposite system to the stress fight-or-flight sympathetic nerves.  There are many ways to stimulate the vagus nerve such as singing/humming, deep regular belly breathing, cold water on your face, prayer/meditation, fasting, positive social connection, gargling, tai chi, yoga, massage, and more.  Since inflammation is the basis of most disease, we all need to stimulate our vagus nerves a lot.

Listening to your plants

A new startup company has developed a special sensor you place in the soil and on a leaf of your favorite houseplant.  The sensor reads tiny electrical signals produced by the plant in response to things like being thirsty, injured, or changes in light levels.  These signals are fed into a speaker so you can hear what you plant is “saying”.  Researchers are still trying to figure out the plant language and are asking users of this device to share their plant response information with them.

Our address is  9725 Fair Oaks Blvd. suite A
Our hours are M - F 9 to 1 and M, Tu, & Th 3 to 6

Finding the new location is very easy.  Coming from highway 50 up Sunrise Blvd, you turn left and go up a block.  We are on the right hand side - the building just past the Subway Sandwich shop.  If you are coming down Sunrise from the Mall area then just turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd and up a block on the right.

If you are coming from the Roseville area you could come down Sunrise Blvd, but that is a long trek.  It is probably shorter time wise to come down Auburn Blvd - San Juan Ave like you have been for the Sunset office, but instead of turning left at Sunset, keep going straight 3 more lights to Fair Oaks Blvd and turn left.  Go down 2 lights to New York Ave, go through the intersection, and immediately turn into the turn lane once the center divider ends.  We are on the left.
