How to Heal Others

 Hi ,

Whether we choose to engage it or not, each one of us has the ability to heal our fellow man.  Historically this ability has been delegated to the village shaman, medicine man, or doctor.  They gain social status by creating ritual and drama around the healing to make it seem mysterious and beyond the reach of ordinary mortals.  But in truth healing is very simple and can be practiced by anyone and everyone.

In my experience healing falls into two basic categories: psychic healing and spiritual healing.  I will have to define what I mean by these terms as these are my own words for certain approaches to healing.

What I call psychic healing is when an individual or group calls upon and uses their own personal energies or tries to direct some higher energy to manifest a change in the condition of the health of another.  The key here is the healer has a specific goal or outcome they are focusing on - whether it is the elimination of something unwanted or the creation of something desired.  I call it psychic because it derives from an individuals mental energies.  It deals in the creation of form as an outcome.

Spiritual healing, on the other hand, is when an individual or group calls upon and requests the intervention of some higher spiritual power to uplift the distressing situation and move it forward.  The goal is resolution of the states of consciousness that produced the distress in the first place.  There is no focus on a particular out come and it is not form oriented, but feeling oriented.  Generally the focus of these healers is typified in the phrase "God's will be done."

Many studies have been done on the power of intercessory prayer as a means of promoting healing.  The results have been fascinating.  The biggest obstacle to evaluating the effectiveness of prayer lies in the power of the placebo effect.  Placebo effect deals with the beliefs of the subject person.  If you believe something is going to help you, it generally does. While if you believe something is not going to be of any help, it usually is of no help.  The most powerful medicine in the world lies between our ears in our brains and it is run by our beliefs.  This colors the results of any study on healing if the subjects know they are being worked on - and it is unethical to study people without them knowing you are studying them.

That is why I most look to studies on animals, plants, and tissues in cultures as they don't have any confounding belief systems to take into account (as far as I know).  One excellent study measured how long blood cells would remain intact when put into a test tube of water.  Normally within a half hour or so the red cells will burst and be destroyed.  But when groups of people were instructed to visualize the cells staying strong, the cells lasted longer.  Interestingly, when the people were instructed to use non-directed prayer for the cells by just praying "God's will be done" the cells lasted much longer - twice as long as the cells that were visualized as staying strong.

I have watched and participated in both psychic and spiritual type healings many times over the last 42 years.  Sometimes the results can be quite dramatic.  Other times the results are unimpressive.  The degree of resultant outcome seems largely to depend upon the degree of belief of the people doing the healing.  It does not seem to have anything to do with the particular ritual or process the people use.  Ritual and process are simply mechanisms for focusing the attention on the task at hand.  Having a clear and focused attention is a key to successful healing.  Emotions like fear, concern, desire, and need all put most of your attention on yourself and your wants and not allowing the clarity necessary for performing a successful healing.

What type of healing you engage in depends on what part of your personal growth cycle you are in.  If you are in the left half of your growth cycle, where creativity and self definition are the most important, you will likely be drawn to the psychic type of healing as it focuses on specific form level outcomes.  The secondary goal of healing is the self-empowerment that comes from developing the skill of healing.  If you are in the right half of your growth cycle, where connection and feeling dominates, then you will likely be more drawn to the spiritual type of healing.  Here feeling connection is what life is all about and the form of the outcome is relatively unimportant.

Life flows from the top down and from the inside out.  This is the prime belief of Chiropractic.  It didn't start with Chiropractic.  This belief has been around for thousands of years.  The interpretation of this belief can be taken on many levels.  Spiritualists will see it as saying that life begins in Spirit form and successively takes on mental, emotional, and finally physical form.  The conclusion is therefore that all illness begins as an illness of the spirit and then moves down into the body.  Healing therefore must take place on the spirit level for any healing to be meaningful or lasting.

A more physical interpretation would be that health begins in the neurochemistry of the brain and flows down through the nerves and hormonal pathways to the body tissues.  Rebuilding health therefore begins in balancing the brain chemistry and clearing up the communication pathways from the brain to the body.  Personally I use both perspectives in my practice.

Typical medicine operates from the outside in.  It sees ill health as coming from something bad from the outside coming into you and harming you, and healing as doing something to you or having you swallowing something that will undo the harm that has been done to you.  The "you" inside the body is ignored as a healing source.  At its heart, medicine is a complete lie.  While its methods might stop the harm that is happening, nothing in medicine has ever actually caused healing.  All healing comes from within the body.  Medicine might compensate for or cover up the consequences of damage, but cellular repair is way beyond the skills of medicine.

So how do you heal?  Healing is a skill like learning to play a musical instrument.  It requires lots of dedication and practice to develop the clarity and focus to become any good.  This is why group healing has always been popular as it is easier to develop focus by leaning on the intentions of a whole group than it is to develop the focus on your own.  So whether you focus your mind on a desired outcome like healing a broken bone or focus on alignment with a higher spiritual power to allow for the highest good to manifest without your interference - the key either way is to be able to focus your attention.

It doesn't really matter whether you are channeling white light, or violet rays, or removing entities, or projecting love, or bridging acupuncture points, or calling upon angles, ascended masters, or God itself.  The bottom line is you are focusing your attention on something you want to heal and then shifting your attitude or tone.  This shift is the second component of healing.  First you become aware of some type of distress, then you know/see/feel the distress change to a state of ease and resolution.  This is the essence of the actual healing.  You change your perception of the observed situation.  As your perception changes, the situation reforms with the new energetic information from your changed stance.

This gets into some pretty heady stuff.  In essence it is saying that what we call reality is actually a consensus agreement made by all of us participating in it.  This is pretty trippy and "out there" for most folks, but there is actually quite a bit of evidence and hard science behind this viewpoint.  We never see this in play in our normal life because our agreements are so strong and made on such a deep subconscious level that it never gets challenged.

Just as a 'for instance' to pique your interest - we all live with agreements about aging.  We believe that as we get older our physical capacities decline.  This is how it is for everyone we know.  Some people seem to do better than others, but everyone declines relative to their personal best somewhere between 25 and 35.  Well years ago anthropologists found a tribe of isolated Indians in the Andes Mountains that had never had contact with anyone except their own tribe for hundreds or possibly thousands of years.  They did not have a belief in aging.  They believed all you did was get better every year as you aged.  When they were discovered, their belief was in fact true for them.  Forty-year-olds were faster and stronger than 20 year olds.  Sixty- year-olds were faster and stronger than 40 year olds.  They did not have a belief in aging, so they didn't age by any of the tests the anthropologists could measure them with.  This is what is meant by a consensus reality.  Everyone agrees subconsciously on how life works - so it is.

Healing is about shifting your agreements about how life is and that helps change it.  The clearer and the higher your energetic tone, the more impact your shift will have on the current agreements holding the current perception that there is something wrong that needs healing.

This brings to the front what I believe is the most powerful method of healing.  It hinges on the understanding that we are here in order to grow up, so everything that grabs our attention is really about us.  Our life is really our story.  When we see someone or something we feel is not right and so judge that it needs healing, we are really only seeing a projection of something inside ourselves that feels not right that we are in judgment of.  My perception is that everything at every moment is perfect.  If something appears not all right to me, what it really says is that I am not all right with it.

Healing from this place becomes a process of going into compassion for what seems not right, finding why in myself I do not feel alright about it and bringing in the change within myself that would make that concern come to ease, strength, and harmony within myself.   I then share my own self-compassion and shifted self-stance energetically with that situation or person and rejoice in the perfection of what is.  When you can see yourself as perfect and see the other person as equally perfect the healing takes place.  All healing is really self-healing.

This lightly summarizes what I have learned about healing over the last 42 years that I have been actively involved in the healing arts.  I hope it is of help to those of you interested in healing others.  The subject is vast but I believe at its core it is basically simple and anyone can do it.

Good Journey,

David

Prevention of Breast, Prostate, and Colorectal Cancers

This article examines how the body converts vegetable oil (linoleic acid) into a chemical (13S-HODE) that creates rapid proliferation of tissues in the breast, prostate, and colon.  This is a precancerous state, but taking fish oil EPA will block this.  Cancer needs two things for sure to form - sugar to eat and an oxidizing environment in the body.  Both of these conditions exist in you if you eat a typical American diet.  These do not exist when you eat a ketogenic diet - one with no starches or sugars.  Not only do ketogenic diets slow cancer growth, but they often prevent cancers from even forming in the first place.

Antimicrobial edible films inhibit pathogens in meat

Soon your favorite sausages and meat products may be wrapped in an edible film made from a fungus and treated with natural essential oils like rosemary and oregano.  The oils kill pathogenic bacteria while the film provides a safe barrier to oxygen to keep the meats fresh.

Non-surgical procedure repairs severed nerves in minutes

This is an amazing discovery.  Normally when a nerve is damaged or severed the nerve has to regrow from the point of damage down to the end of its pathway  - usually the leg or arm.  This can take months as the nerves only grow about an inch a month.  These researchers have discovered a way to reattach nerves such that some function is restored right away.

Our address is  9725 Fair Oaks Blvd.
Finding the new location is very easy.  Coming from highway 50 up Sunrise Blvd, you turn left and go up a block.  We are on the right hand side - the building just past the Subway Sandwich shop.  If you are coming down Sunrise from the Mall area then just turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd and up a block on the right.

If you are coming from the Roseville area you could come down Sunrise Blvd, but that is a long trek.  It is probably shorter time wise to come down Auburn Blvd - San Juan Ave like you have been for the Sunset office, but instead of turning left at Sunset, keep going straight 3 more lights to Fair Oaks Blvd and turn left.  Go down 2 lights to New York Ave, go through the intersection, and immediately turn into the turn lane once the center divider ends.  We are on the left.
