Miracle Weight Loss

 Hi ,

We have all seen the ads blaring out from the grocery checkout magazines and tabloids for "lose 20 pounds in 10 days" and "discovery lets you eat anything you want and lose weight while you sleep".  Although a certain part of us wants to believe this is possible, our rational mind knows the ads are a scam.  Our rational mind is right about the ads being a scam, but does that mean that massive weight loss is impossible?

No it's not impossible, but...

Rapid weight loss is possible.  I just finished losing 20 pounds in 9 days a week ago.  How is that possible and what does it mean?

Your body is made of four basic things - water, protein, minerals, and fat.  Of those the most abundant is water.  Under various common conditions, your body will store gallons of extra water.  What is the most common condition - the standard American diet.  The American diet promotes inflammation in the body, which triggers water retention.  The same diet is so full of toxic and foreign chemicals the body has to dilute their concentration with extra water.  The same diet also promotes intestinal damage creating leaky gut, which in turn generates type 2 allergic responses to foods.  Allergy reactions to the food we eat cause even more water retention.

Anything you do to alter and reduce inflammation, toxic load, or allergic response can induce a release of no longer needed water by your body and create a massive "miracle" weight loss.  This is why there are so many weight loss diets.  There are so many different ways to affect inflammation, toxic load, and allergic response.  These diets do their job and you lose water, feel better, and look better.  The problem is that the minute we go back to our old favorite foods the weight (water) comes right back on.  The foods we stopped eating for the "diet of the day" are the foods that cause inflammation, toxicity, or allergic reaction in us.

In my case, I have been living a low carbohydrate lifestyle for the last three years.  At Thanksgiving I chose to eat carbs.  I still kept my diet clean and healthy; still completely avoiding all grains and dairy, but I let myself have some hummus and some gluten free fruit pie without crust.  It was not much of a transgression, but my brain loves carbs and I kept going back to them intermittently with splurges like a whole basket of blueberries, or a couple bananas, or even sweet potato.  So three weeks ago I decided it was time to get back on course.  I new I was holding a lot of water because I had gained 20 pounds since Thanksgiving.  Some days my weight would jump up 3 pounds overnight even though I had not eaten more than a pound of food all day.  These occurrences told me I was also having type 2 allergic reactions to foods.  I am prone to these because my gluten intolerance produces a leaky gut which lets undigested foods into my blood stream - the main cause of these kind of food allergies.  Once that happens, even though you avoid gluten, the new food allergies perpetuate the problem.

(Type 2 food allergy reactions do not trigger life threatening histamine reactions and most people do not even know they are having an inflammatory response to such foods because it is happening to them all the time.  They just know they don't feel good and lack the energy they used to have.)

I spent four days consuming only a protein and fiber shake and then five days consuming only pure water.  In that nine days the 20 pounds of inflammatory water weight I had gained had dropped off.  To be completely fair about three pounds of that weight was probably fat, and that was burned off by the lack of food.

Unfortunately the rate of fat loss is determined by our energy usage.  Fat is stored energy, and it does not go away by itself - we have to burn it off.  Just being alive burns fat if we have no sugars in the body to burn (the body always burns sugars first.)  With the average person's metabolism you are limited to burning one third to one half pound of fat per day, and that is if you are fasting on nothing but water.

Some people think you can burn fat off with exercise but the effect of exercise is tiny.  You would have to run a marathon for 10 hours to burn off only one pound of fat.  Exercise is essential to keep your metabolism up while you are dieting.  Mental exercise can raise your metabolism as much as physical exercise so folks that say they can't lose weight because they can't exercise have been fooled.

So like it or not, losing weight is about what you do and do not put into your mouth.  Are you stopping the allergic reactions, toxic buildup, and inflammation?  These are key to rapid water weight loss, but actual fat loss is all about time.  It takes time to burn up the calories stored as fat.  The less you eat, the more your body will have to dip into your fat stores for energy.

Complete fasting is the fastest way to lose weight, but certain problems arise.  Because your white blood cells can only burn sugar, and your body can not make sugar from fat, it will break down protein to make sugar.  This is a problem, as you don't have a storage source of protein for this, so you start breaking down your organs and muscles.  We need our organs and muscles, so a modified fast called a protein sparing fast is used in hospital run fasting for emergency weight loss.  It involves doing what I was doing the first four days - protein and fiber shakes amounting to about 500 calories a day.  Some individuals have gone over a year on just this much food each day in order to lose hundreds of pounds to save their lives.  This usually requires medical supervision to be sure no complications arise with blood electrolyte levels.  However most people can sustain a month on this without concern if they consume plenty of vitamins, minerals and leafy green foods.  Check with your doctor before jumping into this protocol to be sure you do not have any health limitations that could be made worse by a one-month very low calorie diet.  (I can run inexpensive blood panels to check for imbalances in your blood chemistry that would be a warning flag.)

For as long as I can remember people have been telling me that rapid weight loss is not good as it all comes back.  They say you need to lose the weight 1-2 pounds a week for long term loss.  Fortunately this advice is hearsay and is false.  Someone made it up and someone else repeated it until it became "common knowledge."  Long term actual studies have shown just the opposite is true.  Those who have rapid weight loss are more likely to maintain that loss over time.

The purpose of this article is to let you know that "Miracle Weight Loss" diets do exist and are real for losing water weight.  There are no miracle fat loss diets that can make it come off any faster than you burn the calories.  This subject has many more facets to it, which will appear in other newsletters.

Do remember though that little or no fat at all will be burned as long as your body has carbohydrates/sugars available to burn.  In healthy individuals it takes 6 - 8 hours from your last meal to use up the easily available sugars/carbs before your body will start burning any fat.  In fact it is commonly an imbalance in your sugar metabolism that causes fat weight gain in the first place.  The biggest culprit there is too much fructose.  Sugar is half fructose and the body turns fructose directly into fat for storage.

I personally prefer very low calorie, low carb, dieting to lose weight, which is why I created my Green Fast for a quick drop of 5-10 pounds of mostly water and a few pounds of fat.  I also created a longer protocol for use with Homeopathic HCG for larger weight loss needs.  This is available in my office along with a HCG homeopathic blend with neurotransmitter support and a special taste bud stimulation blend to give the brain a feeling of satisfaction built into the HCG spray.  Your body wants variety in its food sources and tastes and will leave you restless if you don't get some variety.  This blend simulates this for your brain by stimulating the basic tastes just enough to create balance.

Looking forward to a healthy 2013.

Take care,

David

The Loving Life Elixer is a big hit, but the folks that like their coffee black asked for an unsweetened straight cacao powder version without the Moringa powder included.  I have brought bags of Organic Cacao Powder to the office at the terrific price of only $9.75 for 12 ounces.

How to find us -

Our address is  9725 Fair Oaks Blvd.

If you are coming from the Roseville area you could come down Sunrise Blvd, but that is a long trek.  It is probably shorter time wise to come down Auburn Blvd - San Juan Ave like you have been for the Sunset office, but instead of turning left at Sunset, keep going straight 3 more lights to Fair Oaks Blvd and turn left.  Go down 2 lights to New York Ave, go through the intersection, and immediately turn into the turn lane once the center divider ends.  We are on the left.

Take care,

David

We Can Almost Print New Organs Using 3D Stem Cells

The future of replacement parts for humans is almost upon us.  The thought has been that we will grow them in the lab from stem cells, but that has not been working out.  Plus there is the whole moral issue of harvesting stem cells.  Researchers have been successful at turning stem cells into almost any type of tissue they want, but organs are hugely complex 3 dimensional mixtures of many types of cells.  Being able to grow 1 type of cell does not produce a functional organ.
Using printer technology just like the printer on your computer only 3-D, scientists are experimenting with printing out organs layer by layer with the full complexity of the organ using printer "ink" made of solutions of the different cell types needed.  The vision is to be able to take cells from your own body, turn them into stem cells, then into the solutions of the various cell types needed.  In that way they will then be able to print you up new organs on demand that will match you perfectly, because they will be made from your own cells.

Brain Scans can tell if you are a Republican or a Democrat

Yes, the brains of Republicans and Democrats are wired differently and process information differently.  The parts fo the brain that assess reward versus fear are more active in Republicans versus Democrats who process more heavily in the brain areas for emotion and internal bodily cues.  Conservatives are more squeamish while Liberals pay less attention to threats.  Lots of little differences in how the brain is wired to process information goes into forming how we as individuals relate to the world.  This research further underscores how unique each of us is and how utterly silly it is to try to make other people see things our way.  They can't.  The wiring in their brains is different than ours.

Billboard that produces water from the air

As an advertising gimmick to attract new students to study engineering at a local school in Lima, Peru, the school created a billboard that extracted over 25 gallons of fresh water per day from the surrounding air for the local residents.  That may not seem like much to us, but in Lima many of the residents have no access to fresh water.  Lima is set in a desert, but it also has high humidity.  The billboard condenses the water from the air and purifies it.  The water is then freely available to all who come by.
