We've Moved!

 Hi ,

Well Saturday morning found me waiting outside the rental yard at 5 to eight to pick up a trailer for the big move.  By eight thirty I was on the road with a trusty (and somewhat rusty) trailer in tow.  I got home, loaded my dollies and some wood to make a ramp and headed to the office to get the first load (my adjusting table) over to the new place before the moving party got started.
Susie showed up at nine and started filling her car with stuff while I set up the ramp and gingerly eased my table out of my room through the sliding door to the waiting trailer.  A few more minutes to pile in a bunch of chairs and a couple of book cases and we headed off to the new office.  Good thing she was following me, as the lights on the trailer weren't working.  I sent Susie back to the old office at 10 to greet the restless crowds waiting to help with the move.  By the time I got there 15 minutes later the old office was like a busy bee hive of action.  Moving volunteers were everywhere.
We had been packing all week so we had probably 60 plus boxes ready to go, but those volunteers found all kinds of other stuff to fill their cars with.  I could say it was a graceful symphony of action, but purposeful chaos would fit the truth more closely.

By 11:15 everyone's cars were stuffed with all manner of office junk and we all formed a caravan and headed to the new office.

All this while Ellen had been at home assembling the feast for these noble volunteers.  We had vegetable and beef chili, Dr Dave bread, sliced meats without chemicals, dehydrated Dr Dave crackers and Gypsy flax crackers with guacamole, salmon salad, a huge relish tray of pickles and olives and carrots with tahini and hummus, And a big platter of goodies that Gypsy had made for us (pumpkin fudge cake, chocolate chip cookies) and some blueberry blondies Ellen added to the mix.

Everything was unloaded in about half an hour into huge piles everywhere.  We can barely move around the office.  We kept the reception room fairly open so we could feast and quickly settled in for an excellent repast.
My son Mason arrived from San Francisco just in time for lunch (not to worry, he will get to help me do the rest of the moving till 9 that night.)

After a good time had by all I said my heartfelt thank you's for all their help and they went on to their respective days.  Mason and I then got to work moving all the awkward and heavy/big stuff that had to go into the trailer.  It took another 6 trailer loads to get most everything moved, then we headed over to my house to load up the unfinished front desk to take to the new office while I still had the trailer rented.  I have to get it back by 8 am Sunday morning.
None of the pictures show the tremendous mess the place is right now.  It is unbelievable how much stuff we had to move.  Our new place is just a little over half the size of the old office.  Fortunately there is an old unused building on the new property which we are using to store all the stuff that could not fit in the new office.

So we are there!

The whole time we were there the contractor, Kent, was busy hooking up toilets and putting in a bathroom door - last minute stuff that had to get done before the move.  The handicap striping in the drive way goes in Sunday (today?) and a final inspection is scheduled for Monday.

We will be closed Monday to try to straighten up some of the mess.  We will be getting phones Wednesday or Friday so until then they are supposed to forward calls to my cell phone.  It is a good thing I have a lot of rollover minutes saved up on my phone.  (That happens when you only use it a couple minutes a year.)

The new office is at 9725 Fair Oaks Blvd.    here
Finding the new location is very easy.  Coming from highway 50 up Sunrise Blvd, you turn left and go up a block.  We are on the right hand side - the building just past the Subway Sandwich shop.  If you are coming down Sunrise from the Mall area then just turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd and up a block on the right.

If you are coming from the Roseville area you could come down Sunrise Blvd, but that is a long trek.  It is probably shorter timewise to come down Auburn Blvd - San Juan Ave like you have been for the Sunset office, but instead of turning left at Sunset, keep going straight 3 more lights to Fair Oaks Blvd and turn left.  Go down 2 lights to New York Ave, go through the intersection, and immediately turn into the turn lane once the center divider ends.  We are on the left.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our new location.

And Thanks again to all the wonderful folks that came and helped us move!

Take care,

David

New Exercise Program
Patients are reporting great results with the new back strengthening program I wrote about in the March 18th newsletter.  I highly recommend this program for everyone as we all need stronger backs to counter the effects of too much sitting.  If you missed this information here is a link to that newsletter.
