Miracle Weight Loss Mineral
Hi ,

Sometimes it is really simple small things that are at the bottom of big problems. One of those simple small things is a common mineral that 7 out of every 10 Americans are deficient in. Yet this mineral is required for insulin to do its job of getting sugar into the cells for energy. If this does not happen right, the sugar builds up in the blood and gets converted into fat for storage.
This mineral helps the body digest, absorb, and utilize proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Lack of this necessary nutrient causes improper utilization of food, leading to such symptoms as hypoglycemia, anxiety, and obesity. Food craving and excess eating may be a symptom of trying to get necessary nutrients that are not being absorbed due to the lack of this mineral.

Another huge cause of obesity is stress. Stress causes the release of the hormone cortisol which is responsible for that weight gain around the middle. In fact stress is the main reason I find for prescribing this mineral to patients. This mineral lowers the excitation in the "fight or flight" sympathetic nervous system.
What is this miracle mineral you ask? It is magnesium. It is what makes green plants green. It is the central mineral that forms the green chlorophyll in plants. Most of us do not get enough to stay healthy.
Magnesium is the single greatest and most common food deficiency in America today. But it is humble, cheap, and nobody talks much about it. It is not going to make any company rich so nobody promotes it. Yet it is vital for so many aspects of our cellular metabolism.
Calcium has been getting a lot of press as a preventative for osteoporosis. But taking calcium actually decreases the absorption of magnesium. The body stores calcium while it does not store magnesium. That means we need to eat magnesium every day. Further more, calcium has the opposite effect on the nerves that magnesium has. Calcium stimulates the stress nerves while magnesium calms them down.
Magnesium is being depleted in our soils so our foods carry less magnesium than they did in years past. Compared to 100 years ago, the average American is only getting half as much magnesium from his or her diet as they did back then.

So many of the food additives, preservatives, chemicals, and medical drugs actually cause the body to use up or lose its magnesium. Here is a list of drugs that promote the loss of magnesium:
Asthma medicines
Diuretics
Insulin
Steroids
Nicotine
Phosphates (as in sodas - especially colas)
Antibiotics
Anticonvulsants
Chelators
Weight gain around your middle is directly related to magnesium deficiency through its effect on the proper functioning of insulin. This sets you up for Syndrome X (also know as pre-diabetes insulin resistance or diabesity). If you are a man with a waist measurement of 40 inches or more or a woman with a waist measurement of 35 or more, you probably have this pre-diabetic Syndrome X. Some studies show that chronic insulin resistance in patients with type II diabetes is associated with a reduction of magnesium. This is because magnesium is critical for both the manufacture and the utilization of insulin.

Magnesium deficiency leads to cholesterol buildup, and to hypertension. It is also one of the root causes behind some forms of cancer. Magnesium plays a critical role in vital DNA repair. Magnesium deficiency also causes you to fail to produce the "mother hormone" DHEA from which all your other male and female hormones are made. DHEA is also critical for the functioning of your immune system. Both sides of the immune system need magnesium - the part for fighting bacteria and viruses and the part for dealing with toxins and autoimmune problems.
On a basic and practical level, magnesium helps your bowels to move regularly. In fact that is one of the limitations to taking magnesium, as too much may cause loose stools.
So as you can see, you need magnesium. You need at least 400 milligrams each day, day in and day out. No you are not getting enough from your diet - it just isn't there in sufficient quantities in the foods we eat. A couple high magnesium foods are spinach and almonds. To get one days magnesium needs met you would have to eat 16 cups of raw spinach or 2 cups of raw almonds. How many of you do that every day?
Add in all the things we do to cause us to lose our magnesium or block its absorption and you can see we really only have one reliable choice - daily supplementation. I would say absolutely every one of my patients needs daily magnesium supplementation.

I use Mg-Kzyme which combines magnesium with potassium - both of which help to tune down stress in the body. The potassium also helps counteract the excess sodium intake we have in our diet. Magnesium is so fundamental and essential for health in the body that I suggest everyone of you take some magnesium daily - either as an oral pill or through the skin by using something I will be writing about next week.
Basic minerals like magnesium, zinc, calcium, iron are so simple that we tend to forget them. Yet a deficiency in any of them is a basic cause behind so many health problems. Before we go off looking for fancy and exotic causes and remedies for our health problems, lets cover the basics first.
Yours in health,
David

These are pure organic coconuts raised without fertilizers or pesticides. Its a little more expensive, but so much better for you.
New Exercise Program
Patients are reporting great results with the new back strengthening program I wrote about in the March 18th newsletter. I highly recommend this program for everyone as we all need stronger backs to counter the effects of too much sitting. If you missed this information here is a link to that newsletter.

Magnesium can lower risk of death from heart disease 50%
Magnesium is the most deficient nutrient in the western diet. It is naturally found most in green leafy vegetables. In studying death from heart disease over a 15 year period, it was found that those with the highest levels of magnesium intake had a 50% lower chance of dying from heart disease. This is part of the reason I increased the magnesium levels in my Miracle bread to such a high level.

Wheat found in facial soaps trigger allergies Over 500 people in Japan have broken out with allergies (some had to be hospitalized) after using all natural facial soaps that contained hydrolyzed wheat. They would never know it was wheat by looking at the ingredients as the wheat was called Gulpal-19s. These were all people with no previous history of food allergies. Modern wheat is bad stuff, and it is made much worse when they start modifying it for commercial purposes.
Facial skin is the third most absorbent area of the body, and making sure that you only put safe gentle ingredients on it is very important.

Tin nanowhiskers triple battery capacity
I have been following battery development for years, and this is a big breakthrough. I was just reading in consumer reports that several all electric vehicles are now getting well over the equivalent of 100 mpg. But their battery packs will only carry them 70 - 80 miles on a charge. Although this is plenty for daily run around, it is not enough to make the consumer feel safe in getting one of these new vehicles. With this battery breakthrough these same cars could now get 250 miles on a charge which would be a deal changer. With that much capacity I would expect consumer acceptance of the electric car to jump massively.
