How to be a success in life's relationships
Hi ,
Our goal in life is to manifest ourselves and connect with others. The challenge is doing both at the same time. In the beginning it often seems these two goals are opposed to each other. This is because we start this journey with the false belief that in order to get what we want in life those around us have to want the same things as us. We demand they be the same as us even though they can't possibly be the same as us. We are unique. No one is like us. But we falsely believe that we can't possibly manifest our way in life without this sameness as everything we want involves the participation of others. If they don't want what we want then why would they possibly give us what we need to manifest our desires? There is a truth in this perception and a lie. Yes it's true, we do need the participation of others. The lie occurs as the assumption that "they" would not support our manifestation if it was different from what "they" want. This lie is based on perceiving ourselves as passive recipients of the gifts of others. This is how we first experience life as a baby. We are completely dependent upon the good graces of others for our very survival. We experience our needs being met by others without our participation. We are just passive recipients of whatever they want to give us. As we grow we learn to fuss and demand to get things more to our liking, but we are still completely dependent upon others for everything. Somewhere along the line someone says NO to us and does not give us what we want. They make it clear that they do not want the same things as us - they are different from us. We are shocked, then terrified, as it slowly dawns on us that we are not the center of everyone's universe and that we are not going to be given everything we want. I believe this terror is the root of all addictions. We can't deal with the consequences of this truth so we try to block awareness of this input from life by using substances or behaviors that distract us from what life is telling us.
Fortified with the awareness blocking power of food, or drugs, or excess emotions and actions, we move forward in life trying to pretend that those around us are the same as us, want the same things as us, and should give us what we want (since it is the same things that they want.) We wage intense battles of judgment, condemnation, and control to try to make people line up with our way. To us our survival depends on it. We have to have everyone see things our way so that we can get our way. This is very stressful since everything we encounter is yelling at us that it is different from us. We end up living in fear.
Fear is simply Failure to Engage and Accept Relationship.
We don't want relationships with difference from us - so we live in fear. So what is the truth that we are not seeing? To see the truth we have to step out of the passive position and into an equal participation position. We have to let go of the baby position of receiving simply because we exist to an active co-creation of life with others. From this place the differences we feared so much are now actually our greatest ally. Since everyone is different, we all have different needs and wants. This creates allowance for mutual support. We each have inborn gifts and talents that flow freely and joyfully from us. The very things that flow easily from us will be the very things someone else needs. Some of their freely flowing gifts will be exactly what we need. We can support each other by trading and participating with each other. This works. When we have a need, it begins as an impulse or inspiration on a feeling level, without form. We are designed to share this feeling with others to find out if any of them have a complimentary feeling that might support where we might be going with our feeling. Taking into account the resources of our co-creator friends (by respectfully recognizing both their gifts and their needs) we formulate a purpose and direction for ourselves. We seek the manifestation or creation of a physical activity that will empower us to live out the feeling inspiration we initially received. We have a particular feeling we are chasing, but there are hundreds of physical ways to achieve that feeling. We pick one that can easily be supported by one of our co-creator friends and then take the personal responsibility to do the work to bring what we want into manifestation in our own way. In response to their support, we connect with our co-creator friend and supply him/her with what we have to offer as participation and support for something they wish to create the experience of in their own way. We support and participate with each other to help each other to get what we want from life, and get it in our own way. We do the creating and manifesting as there is no one who knows exactly what we want but us. We get to ask for and pick and choose just what support we want to help us manifest our life. But we always stay captain of our lives. Our desires and inspirations guide us. It does not matter that no one shares those inspirations or desires. They are privileged communication to us from God/our inner blueprint anyway - "for our eyes-only". Everyone else has his or her own inspirations and desires. What matters is that we learn how to be our way, get our life the way we want by respectfully participating in the co-creation of life with everyone else. We support them when we can by giving from our abundance and they do the same for us. It is not their job to be the way we want or to ever be the same as us. It is not their job to ever give us what we want - they can't because they can't really know what feeling we are after. Our feelings are too complex and too hidden - even from ourselves. Besides, we don't really receive (take in on a heart level) anything that is not exactly what we really want. That is why we have to be in charge of manifesting what we really want.
Go forth and create the life you want - the support is out there when you are willing to participate equally and give freely from your abundance to support your fellow co-creators.
Take care of yourself.
Good Journey,
David
Gallbladder Story 2
Hi Everyone,
Many many of you have been asking how Ellen is doing with her gallbladder surgery, so this is a group update. The surgery did not go well. What was supposed to be a 1 hour surgery ended up being 4 hours. The surgeon encountered massive amounts of scar tissue that had deformed the organs in the surgery site so badly that he could not tell what he was working on. After an hour he abandoned the laparoscope and grabbed the big knife and opened her up. After another 2-3 hours of cutting away scar tissue he found her gallbladder shrunk down to 1/2 inch in size. In the process of scar removal a bile duct got cut that had to be closed off. Now they have to keep her in the hospital and monitor her blood to make sure that the bile from her liver is still able to flow to the small intestine.
She is pretty miserable feeling. I have been spending most of my time at the hospital so I have not had the time to answer phone calls. She does not want visitors yet as she has 6 different tubes coming in and out of her (9 if you include the leg pressure wraps and the BP cuff). She is not allowed to drink or eat anything. All she gets is a tiny sponge on a stick to dip in a cup of water to moisten her tongue.
I talked to her doctor Saturday morning when he dropped in to see how she is doing. So far the blood tests look good so he is encouraged. Initially they were concerned that they might have to go back in and reconstruct the damaged duct. She will get better. It is just a painful road back to health, but she is stubborn. In fact she insisted on spending 2 hours the night of her surgery (we went in at 5am that morning) working on the spiritual connections to the pain and the whole experience.
Ellen has been feeling your prayers and concerns (actually hearing them as a murmuring above and to the right of her head - you know Ellen's other side connections). So thank you for those prayers.
Take care,
David
