Spring Cleaning Time Again

 Hi ,

Yes, it is getting to be the time of year when our bodies are expecting to do a good round of liver cleanup.  In a natural environment, the second half of winter to the beginning of spring traditionally is the time when food stores start to run out and people would start to go hungry.  To fight hunger people would eat the inner bark linings on trees and tender shoots of new plants that would just start to come up at this time.  These early greens contain a lot of bitter elements that promote flushing of the liver and provide the high fiber levels needed to bind the poisons expelled by the liver and carry them out of the body.

Fortunately our food delivery system does a good job of keeping food on our tables year round so we no longer have periods of yearly starvation.  Unfortunately our bodies evolved to depend upon that yearly cleanup period to detoxify us from poisons that were stored in the liver and fat cells during the rest of the year.  The starvation kicks the poisons out for the fat cells as it pulls out fat to burn for energy.  The liver has to deal with this big influx of poison in the blood stream.  Poison storage is one of the reasons we have fat cells and a major contributor to obesity in people whose livers do not detoxify readily.

So this is an excellent time to do a little liver and body spring-cleaning.  Lets get rid of some of the toxic waste being stored in our waist.

Detoxification is a three step process in the body.

Phase 1:  The liver breaks the poisons down into smaller pieces.  This destroys some poisons but for many others this breakdown actually makes them much more toxic.  This can be a big problem if there is a problem with phase 2 of the process being blocked or slowed.  Phase 1 produces many free radicals in the breakdown process so you must have a good supply of antioxidants and B vitamins to neutralize them.

Patients with underactive Phase 1 detoxification will experience an intolerance to caffeine, perfumes and other environmental chemicals, and an increased risk for liver disease.  If you react strongly to caffeine you may have a deficiency in Phase 1 liver detox efficiency.  Cabbage, broccoli, and brussels sprouts stimulate Phase 1 as does vitamins B1, niacin, and C.

Oranges, tangerines, caraway seeds, and dill seeds are all good stimulators of both Phase 1 and 2 detoxification pathways.  However, stay away from grapefruit as it shuts down these detox pathways.

Phase 2:  Here the liver combines the broken down poisons with one of 6 substances to make the poison water soluble so it can then be flushed out if the liver.  For this process to occur we need choline, inositol, and the amino acids cysteine, taurine, glutamine, and glycine.  Milk thistle herb is also very helpful.

For patients with sluggish Phase 2 processes while Phase 1 is working fine, we often see many environmental sensitivities and symptoms of chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia.  This is because the endproducts of Phase 1 are often more toxic than the original poisons.  If Phase 2 is not there to finish the detox process, then these worse poisons now attack the body.

The liver is the major detoxification organ of the body.  When it is sluggish or backed up, poisons build up in the body and cause havoc everywhere.  Proper functioning of the liver's detoxification system is especially important even for the prevention of cancer. Up to 90% of all cancers are believed to be due to the effects of environmental carcinogens (such as pollutants found in cigarette smoke, food, water, and air) combined with deficiencies of the nutrients the body needs for proper functioning of the detoxification and immune systems.  A clean and well functioning liver is vital for health.

Phase 3:  Once the poisons have been made water soluble the liver then has to flush them out in the bile into the colon and bind the poisons to lignans and other fibers to be carried out through the colon.  If the fibers are not present then the toxins can be reabsorbed back into the general circulation as they pass through the intestine.  This just puts the poisons (now in their broken down and more toxic form) right back into the body to cause even more damage.  Taking lots of fiber during a liver cleanse is vital to prevent this from happening.

The bitter green elements found in such things as dandelion greens and beet tops are especially good for stimulating the liver to flush.  The best sources for lignans are flaxseeds, sesame seeds, and cabbage family vegetables.  One or more of these three needs to be eaten in good-sized amounts every day th
at you are cleansing your liver.

Now I know from years of experience teaching about liver cleansing to patients that only one person in ten is actually willing to eat the bitter greens and drink a fiber mixture every day for three weeks or more as necessary to give a good cleaning to the liver.  So this year I have created a super easy way for you to clean out your liver.  I am creating a Liver Cleaning Kit.  It will contain two supplements that provide all the nutrients and herbs necessary to clean out your liver plus a special high lignan containing bread mix to meet your fiber needs for the poison removal.  You will be able to add whatever flavor enhancers you like to the bread mix to make it savory or sweet...Italian Garlic, Lemon Poppyseed, or Dark Chocolate.

For a three week cleanse you will need about 3 bread mixes, 3 flavor enhancers, and one bottle of each of the two supplements - Bilemin and Metacrine DX.  As a combo deal I am reducing the total price down to $89.  I will have to order the supplements and make up the special lignan bread mixes so you will need to order the Liver Cleanse Kit in advance by either calling the office at 966-4714 or emailing me at: david@fairoakshealth.com
by this coming Friday.  The kits should be ready for pickup around Thursday or Friday of the next week.

I believe this is the easiest and tastiest detoxification protocol on the planet.

For those of you who really feel the desire to suffer more while detoxing, you can enhance the detox process by reducing your calorie load to below 500 calories every other day during the detox period.  This will give your liver the ability to really focus its energies on cleaning out and produce about a 50% better outcome.  Conversely you could also pick up that extra 50% by simply adding an extra 2 weeks on to your clean out protocol time without reducing your calorie load.

For most of us the simple 3 week process is plenty.  Our livers will be much happier and we will feel better as a result.  Give us a call or email me to let me know that you want to order a Liver detox Kit this week.

Good Journey,

David

I am now adding Vitamin C to the Miracle Protein Bread!  A full 4 grams per loaf!  That is 2-3 times the minimum recommended daily dose per slice, or equal to 2-3 oranges.

I have just finished creating the fourth new Miracle Protein Bread Enhancer.  These are flavor enhancement packages for the Miracle Protein Bread basic mix.  Now you can turn your Miracle Protein Bread into delicious Dark Chocolate Cake Bread, Lemon Poppy Seed Bread, Italian Garlic & Herb Bread, and a Dieter's Super Fiber Bread.  The Chocolate Bread and the Lemon Poppy Seed are sweetened with Dr Dave's Super Sweet Powder so they are NO SUGAR, very low Carb, high protein, and high fiber, good for you delicious treats.

The Dieter's Super Fiber enhancer increases the fiber level to 8 grams per slice!  One slice with a glass of water before each meal and you will feel filled up before you even start to eat your meal.  This fiber gives the Miracle Bread a look, feel, and taste of a whole grain bread.

Plus!  I have increased the Magnesium content of the bread mix to promote greater ease and relaxation in your nervous system.  Magnesium and potassium support the functioning of your anti-stress nervous system, the parasympathetic nerves.  This promotes better digestion, greater ease in your muscles, and about a few hundred other things.
