Improved Miracle
Protein "Bread"
Hi ,
I have told you the story of how and why I invented my Miracle Protein Bread. Now I have been able to put the last piece in place - Fiber! I originally envisioned a bread that not only met a person's protein needs, but also their fiber needs. Well now I have achieved my goal. I have tripled the fiber content of the bread to a huge 80 grams per loaf.
Fiber is important for all of us. Fiber is what carries the toxins out of our body. Fiber binds to the poisons that have been processed by the liver and excreted into the intestine for removal from the body. If there is not enough fiber then we actually reabsorb the poisons back into our blood stream from the colon. It is this toxin re-absorption in the colon that creates the increased bowel cancer seen from a low fiber diet.
It is recommended that we consume at least 25 grams of fiber every day. Most of us are lucky if we get 5-10 grams a day. Processed food just does not contain fiber. Fiber comes from lots of vegetables and legumes in the diet. How many of us eat 8-12 servings of vegetable each and every day? How about 4-6 servings of beans each day? That is what it takes to get our daily 25 grams of fiber.
If you take a fiber supplement, look at the amount of fiber per serving. One serving is usually 2-3 grams of fiber. Do you take 10 servings of fiber supplement each day? I suspect not. Most of those fiber supplements are either nasty to try to chug down, or full of sugar or both.
Well now you can get the fiber you need from eating a delicious bread. At the same time you are getting the very best and most biologically perfect protein (egg white) in protein supplement levels.
How am I achieving this? I have added vegetable gums and pure fiber to the mix. Almond flour is already a good source of fiber and 1/3 of the fiber comes from the almonds. The rest comes mostly from polydextrose - a long branching chain of blood sugar molecules that we can not digest (that is why we call it a fiber). Polydextrose is a prebiotic, which means that it supports the growth of the good bacteria in our gut. But as an extra bonus, the polydextrose really gives the bread a wonderful, soft texture.
The miracle continues with the high amount of potassium found in the bread - more than three times the level of sodium. The potassium in each slice of bread is equivalent to eating two bananas. Potassium supports the part of your nervous system that relaxes you. It decreases your blood pressure and mellows you out.
In my previous post I wrote about how much protein the bread has. One loaf has as much protein as 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of good quality beef steak. Looked at in that light the $9.95 price for the loaf mix is down right reasonable. The mix cooks up to about a two pound loaf. So each bite of bread is like a bite of steak but with better quality protein, high fiber, high potassium, and none of the antibiotics or growth hormones you would be getting in the beef.
On a humane level, this bread gives you a good way to meet your protein needs without supporting the awful business of factory cattle farming. For those of you that don't like the idea of killing fellow animals for food, what could be better than almonds and egg whites instead?
When I started this project my original inspired thought was to create a nutritious food for seniors since they often do not cook and so end up eating a nutritional wasteland of boxed cereals and canned soups. In talking with patients since my first batch, I have come to see an even bigger need - kids. Kids need protein
and they definitely do not need the sugar and crap carbs they routinely get for breakfast and lunch. In the modern home everything is so rushed there is no time for nutritious cooked meals in the morning. More boxed cereals and insane "foods" like pop tarts are becoming normal breakfast foods. These foods make your kids fat and stupid (yes, sugar, grains, and milk inhibit brain function).
How about a breakfast with the protein of steak and eggs and a side of fresh fruit in the simple form of a piece of Miracle Bread toast with fresh fruit jam on it? How much easier can it get? Protein makes us feel full, as does fiber, so 1 or 2 slices of bread will really fill you up. You will be surprised.
My next project is to invent add on flavor packets to add to the basic bread. I just finished the research on a sweet chocolate bread made with no sugar, just my Dr Dave Sugar replacement and some excellent unprocessed cocoa powder. The loaf in my kitchen right now is delicious. Please feel free to experiment and add flavors to the bread mix yourself. Earlier in the week I made a pesto bread with fresh sweet basil and garlic. It came out fantastic.
It is Sunday night and I just finished making up 20 bags of bread mix with the increased fiber content. Come on in and get yours.
